Advanced Menu

Getting to know Advanced Menus. We explain all.

Advanced Menus have been replaced in 2020 and later builds of Standfirst for Web with the Page Builder Functionality as described in the Landing Pages section of this guide.

Advanced Menus or, to give it the full title, Advanced Menu Walkers is the tool in Standfirst that allows you to fully curate blocks of content on your site.

The advanced menu widget allows you to curate content to be displayed in a number of ways. Because it’s powered by a menu, you can link to pages, posts, custom links and categories. This makes it very flexible to surface content but be careful how much you use it as content powered from the menu will not automatically update dynamically like some other widgets.

Tip: Flexible and good for content curation but avoid using if you want the content to update dynamically on a regular basis.

Tip: It is advised that you follow the Creating a Menu tutorial before continuing with this section.
